Karen Completes Incredible Skydive for Charity
On Sunday, our brave Senior Account Manager Karen completed an amazing skydive to raise money for a very important cause, the Cynthia Spencer Hospice located in Northampton. This is part of a long running initiative from USB2U and their staff to raise money for the hospice, and follows on from various other fundraising events such as abseiling, cycling and more.

Getting a small plane and flying to over 13,000 feet up in the air, Karen and her daughter Holly then jumped out of the plane and completed their tandem skydives, raising over £800.00 for charity.
Karen explained the reason for choosing a skydive, saying "Having already done the Firewalk and 400ft abseil down the Northampton lift tower, I really had to up my game in order to maximise the sponsorship. So when my eldest daughter Holly suggested we do the skydive together I nervously took up the challenge. I’m so glad we did it – it was one of the craziest but amazing experiences ever. Am still buzzing from it now, and the fact that we raised £843 in the process for such a special organisation is the cherry on the cake."
The hospice itself is a cause dear to Karen's heart. "I always said I would never EVER do a skydive but what is it they say, never say never?! The Cynthia Spencer Hospice is very close to my family’s hearts, having cared so well for my mum 17 years ago in her last few days."
Cynthia Spencer Hospice provides specialist care services for much of Northamptonshire, and at Cynthia Spencer Hospice they provide inpatient and outpatient services, Hospice@Home, lymphoedema service and palliative care clinical nurse specialist service. The cost of running the hospice is over £2.4 million annually, a large percentage of which comes from the generous support of local companies or individuals such as Karen.
