On Sunday 13th March 2022, many factories based in Shenzhen, China announced that they now must close for a week due to fresh Coronavirus restrictions imposed by local Government. Over 3.300 new COVID-19 cases were reported on Saturday, putting China under pressure to contain the spread as the country faces the highest infection numbers recorded since the start of the pandemic.
Shenzhen is a major technology hub in China, where the likes of Apple manufacture their iPhones at the infamous Foxconn factory.
