The biggest challenge we have as a university is to ensure that we attract the right students onto the right courses.
We use a range of different techniques to do this, but the most effective method is to get potential students to visit us. To tour our superb facilities, meet the staff and chat with current students.
Once they are with us, we want to give them something that they can take away with them, which provides all the information they need to make an informed decision. We wanted more than just a brochure, we were looking for something that would show the creativity at the university, as well as a sense of fun.
We did produce a paper based pack, but needed something to bring it to life - the theme was 'cracking the potential'. The answer was have a bespoke USB Memory stick in the shape of a egg - corny = possibly, memorable = yes! This would be loaded with bespoke course information that students could pick up as they toured the university. It would also be a keep sake and useful resource when they hopefully joined us as a new student.
We searched the web for potential providers and eventually shortly listed an number including USB2U.
The primary reason we selected USB2U was that they made the entire process so easy. We had our first mock up within 2 hours of contacting them. We were also pleasantly surprised at the cost of the units - we thought the tooling charges would be much higher.
We were assigned our own account manager and nothing was too much trouble. We even had a physical pre-production proof to signed off before the full production run was completed.
The goods were delivered as the quote provided and within the timeframe promised. They were a massive hit, a real talking point and a great ice breaker.
We'll be back again next year, we just need another cracking idea!
